Source of a gene association. In practice, this corresponds to an institution.
Example: ABA probes are associated with a particular (NCBI) gene by virute of having been designed at AIBS using transcript sequence data. The gene association source is "AIBS" and its descrption is "AIBS probe design." This provides a way of selecting or filtering gene associations.
